Welcome to Sig Ep’s Fall 2017 Philanthropy!
Sig Ep Handball is a fun event where teams of five compete for a chance to win a giftcard to Wings Over Storrs in a very fun up-and-coming game while ALSO raising funds for relief for the recent devastating Hurricanes. 100% of the proceeds raised from this even will go to the Save the Children “Hurricane Irma Relief Fund”.
quick description of where the relief funds go
“Hurricane Irma was the most powerful hurricane ever recorded in the Atlantic. After tearing its way across a string of Caribbean islands and up through Florida, Hurricane Irma has left behind a trail of devastation – leaving thousands of children and families homeless. Our emergency responders are in Florida providing family-friendly supplies and services to Hurricane Irma survivors. We’ll also be the strong helping hand when it comes to restoring the critical child care and education services that children depend on to get back to being kids.
When you donate to Hurricane Irma relief, your generous support will help us keep vulnerable children safe and provide desperately needed relief to families who need it most.” (1)
There are two brackets, a Women’s and a Men’s Bracket, where teams will compete in a head to head single elimination fashion. The event will be held November 5th at the UConn Rec Field House. Teams are suggested to arrive by 9:30am, with the tournament starting starkly at 10:00am. In EACH bracket, First Place gets a $100 Wings Over Storrs gift card while Second Place gets a $15 Wings Over Storrs gift card.
Below is the signup form. Fill out the form and pay the “per team donation” of $45 dollar, or just $7 per person. You can either write a check to “SigEp Uconn”, donate in cash, or venmo @SigEpHandball. After BOTH of these items are checked off, you will receive a confirmation email and updates about the event as the date approaches closer.
